Crafting Instructions

1

Slide pieces 1 and 3 into piece 2 to form the stand.

2

Slide the middle slot of piece D into the lowest horizontal slot on the back piece B.

3

Then slot pieces A and C into piece D on either side of B. Pieces A-C create the main body of the owl.

4

Slot piece E into the lowest horizontal slot on the front of pieces A-C.

5

Slot piece F into the slot above piece E.

6

Slot piece G into the slot above piece F.

7

Slot piece H into the slot above piece G.

8

Slot piece I into the slot above piece H.

9

Slot piece J into the top front horizontal slot above piece I.

10

Slot piece K into the bottom horizontal slot on the back of the owl’s head.

11

Slot piece L into the slot above piece K.

12

Slot piece M into the slot above piece L.

13

Slide piece N onto the final slot on the owl’s head.

14

Using glue, attach piece O to the front of piece N. Make sure that the side with the scored letter is not facing out.

15

Slide the slats at the base of theowl into the corresponding slats on piece 2 and attach the owl to the stand.

16

Before beginning wing assembly, it may be helpful to sort the wing joint pieces into two piles, one marked with an R on the bottom for right wing, and the other marked with L on the bottom for the left wing.

17

Then, lay out the feather pieces in number order for both the left and right wing.

18

Attach joint piece R1 to feather piece S1, making sure the “R1” letters are facing up. The feathers attach to the joint pieces on the side with the short slat. This will form feather 1.

19

Attach feather 1 to the wing’s top slot in piece P.

20

Repeat steps 1 and 2 with pieces R2-R10 and S2-S10, working in order from the longest feathers to the shortest. Then, repeat all steps for the other wing.

21

Take the fully assembled wings and slide the two slots remaining on piece P to the open slots on the side of the owl body.

22

Slide piece Q into the vertical slots at the base of the owl body to attach the tail feathers.

23

Your owl is now complete! Plus, you can make this design even more fun and unique by adding a coat of stain or paint.
